Ellis Perry

When I go to college, one of my biggest goals is to continue my soccer career and see how far I can take it as a goalkeeper. Soccer has been a huge part of my life since I was younger. From around 7 to 9 years old, I was involved with Leicester City, and from 10 to 15, I played for Chesterfield FC. During my time at Chesterfield, I also had the opportunity to represent Derbyshire Boys. From 15 to 16, I was involved with Grimsby Town before eventually moving from England to America. Moving to America and playing at Spire Academy is a big step in my journey, and I want college to be the next step. I want to keep improving as a goalkeeper, compete at a high level, and learn from coaches and teammates who will push me to become better. I know I have already made a lot of changes and sacrifices for soccer, and I want to continue working hard to give myself the best chance of reaching the highest level I can.

I also want college to prepare me for my future outside of playing. I am interested in studying sports management because I want to stay involved in soccer even after my playing career eventually ends. I have recently completed my first coaching license, which has made me more interested in coaching and learning about the different sides of the game. At college, I want to gain a degree, become more independent, meet new people, and build connections within the soccer world. My goal is to leave college knowing that I made the most of my opportunity, improved both as a player and a person, and built a strong foundation for a future career in soccer.
